Dormant Darkness

As the moon cast its pale glow over the imposing facade of St. Augustine's Boarding School, a sense of foreboding lingered in the crisp night air. Among the new arrivals to the school was young Ethan, a bright-eyed boy eager to embark on his academic journey in a new hostel.

Excitement tinged with nervousness filled Ethan's heart as he stepped into his sparsely furnished dorm room. The stale scent of aged wood and musty air greeted him, and he couldn't shake the feeling of being watched by unseen eyes.

Night after night, Ethan found himself plagued by restless dreams, visions of shadowy figures lurking in the corners of his room, whispering sinister secrets that chilled him to the bone. At first, he brushed them off as mere figments of his imagination, the result of stress and unfamiliar surroundings.

But as the days turned into weeks, Ethan's once cheerful demeanor began to wane. Dark circles formed under his eyes, and his classmates whispered of his increasingly erratic behavior. He became withdrawn, spending long hours locked away in his room, muttering to himself in hushed tones.

Rumors began to swirl among the students, tales of a malevolent presence haunting the halls of the hostel, preying on the vulnerable and the unsuspecting. Some claimed to have heard strange noises emanating from Ethan's room late at night, the sound of furniture being overturned and unearthly wails echoing through the corridors.

Desperate to uncover the truth, a group of Ethan's classmates decided to conduct a séance in his room, hoping to communicate with the restless spirit that had taken hold of him. As they sat in a circle, hands clasped tightly together, they called out into the darkness, beckoning the spirit forth.

At first, there was nothing but silence, the air thick with anticipation. Then, a sudden chill swept through the room, and the temperature plummeted as an otherworldly presence made itself known. Ethan's body convulsed violently, his eyes rolling back into his head as a guttural voice spoke through him, its words dripping with malice and despair.

The spirit revealed itself to be that of a former student who had met a tragic end within the walls of the hostel, his restless soul seeking vengeance upon the living. It had latched onto Ethan, drawn to his vulnerable state, and now it sought to consume him entirely.

Terrified, Ethan's classmates scrambled to break the connection, their hearts pounding with fear. With a final, anguished cry, the spirit was banished from the room, leaving Ethan unconscious and gasping for air.

In the aftermath of the ordeal, Ethan was rushed to the hospital, his condition critical but stable. The incident sent shockwaves through the school, forcing the administration to confront the dark forces that lurked within its walls.

But as Ethan lay in his hospital bed, his mind haunted by the memories of that fateful night, he couldn't shake the feeling that the spirit still lingered, waiting patiently for its next victim to fall prey to its insidious grasp. And so, the dormant darkness of St. Augustine's Boarding School continued to loom, its secrets buried deep within its shadowy corridors, waiting to be unearthed by those foolish enough to seek them out.
